One of the largest species of deer and are found mostly on mountain sides and glens in Scotland. Red deer stags can be stalked from the 1st of July to the 20th of October, although the prime time for stags is from the 20th of September onwards. Red deer hinds can be stalked from the 21st of October to the 15th of February.
Roe deer are slightly smaller and tend to live in more wooded areas. The roe buck season runs from 1 April to 20 October.
These creatures can be found in the majestic lands of Perthshire from Dunkeld to Pitlochry, often in woodland areas or on the edge of the moor. The fallow buck season is from the 1st of August to the 30th of April and fallow does can be stalked from the 21st of October to the 15th of February.
