Falconry Certification Courses
The introduction of British School of Falconry Certification Courses enables students to study in convenient study modules, at the schools in Britain and the USA. The individual certification levels can be completed over a period of one year, at any branch of the British School of Falconry.
The Certification Courses are taught during a series of practical sessions with an instructor from the falconry school. In addition, there are written tests. The knowledge to pass the written tests can be acquired from the Course Manual, 'Falconry, Art and Practice', written by Emma Ford, a founding director of the school.
When you sign up for Level 1, you will be given a copy of the Course Manual, together with a British School of Falconry Record Book, which includes the syllabus and logs your training and your field time. Level 1 is a full entry level certification. If you wish to continue your training with the British School of Falconry and certify at higher levels, the syllabus for Levels 2 and 3 will clip into your Record Book.
The syllabus for each level includes a certificate, which is stamped and signed by your instructor when you pass the course.
Levels 1, 2 and 3 are British School of Falconry Certifications only. Completion of any or all of these Levels does not 'qualify' you as a falconer, nor does it infer any legal level of qualification to take up the sport. Legislation permitting you to become a falconer varies from country to country and must be strictly adhered to by those wishing to keep birds of prey for falconry purposes.
