A Taste of Perthshire Menu July 2010 |

Perthshire boasts an excellent variety of seasonal produce. Our chefs have created a Taste of Perthshire menu to tempt you with some of the excellent products selected from the Perthshire Larder.
Salmon fishing on the River Tay is world renowned. It is one of the “Classic” rivers, boasts the UK record and is still known for it’s big spring fish. The salmon season runs from January to October.
July also sees the start of the Scottish girolle season. These are plump bright yellow mushrooms, that are sometimes called golden chanterelles. English chanterelles, which appear later in the year, have a hollow yellow stem and brown cap.
This month highlights soft fruits from local fruit farms - strawberries, raspberries and plump gooseberries.
Remember, you don’t have to stay at Gleneagles to dine in the Strathearn Restaurant which is open from 7pm to 10pm for dinner.
