The Gleneagles™ Hotel

Going Green

A Green Hotel

The Gleneagles Hotel is situated in 850 acres of beautiful countryside in the heart of Perthshire. The five star resort is a unique place to escape for business and pleasure.

Whether you are playing golf on one of the three championship golf courses, enjoying a bike ride around our cycle tracks, or sitting by a loch enjoying a spot of trout fishing, you cannot fail to be amazed by the natural beauty of the setting.

It is our aim to help preserve this environment for future generations who visit, and we have outlined our plans to become a more environmentally friendly hotel in our Sustainability Policy.

We have already been awarded a prestigious Gold Award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme for our environmental work, a Commitment to Excellence Award by The Leading Hotels of the World for responsible tourism and the Catering in Scotland Excellence Award recognising efforts to reduce impact on the environment, but there are many new and exciting green hotel initiatives that are only just beginning.

Gleneagles actively promotes green tourism and we would like to share what we are already doing with you - and we invite our guests to get involved!

Did you know? Gleneagles has 20 preserved natural habitats

Gleneagles has nineteen Sites of Scientific Interest (SSI) and one Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) located around the estate.

A Site of Special Scientific Interest is a protected area in the United Kingdom, which is considered to be of special interest by virtue of its fauna, flora, geological or physiographical features.
