Children's Activities
Gleneagles has a wide range of child friendly sports and leisure activities on offer to keep kids of all ages happily entertained and inspired throughout your UK family holiday.
The Club
It’s hard to keep the children away from the spacious lagoon pool at The Club – they splash about for hours! Every Saturday between 1.30pm and 2.30pm, kids can meet new friends and enjoy fun and games during the Inflatable Splash Hour.
A range of different sized mountain bikes and helmets are available for hire, so the whole family can explore the local Perthshire countryside.
Children can borrow junior tennis racquets and get into the swing of things on one of the five tennis courts. Tuition is available from a qualified instructor.
The Golf Academy
Children can hire their own set of US Kids Clubs to start or improve their golfing career in the Perthshire countryside at Gleneagles, with a junior golf lesson at The Golf Academy. Clubs to suit young golfers from the age of four and practice balls are available free of charge for children using the pitch and putt course.
Falconry
Kids can meet our friendly Harris hawks and take part in a falconry lesson. Learn how to cast the hawk from your gloved hand and then call it back so it lands on your fist again. Ask about shared lessons and make it a family activity!
Junior off road driving and Argo Cats
Kids aged 4-9 years can learn valuable driving skills at the wheel of mini land rover replicas over a purpose built course, designed to mimic the grown ups’ off road course.
Argo cats are all-terrain, all-weather, semi-amphibious vehicles used a lot in the Highlands in Scotland. Children 10 years and over can be taught how to operate these eight-wheel-drive, tiller-controlled vehicles on land and in water on a challenging purpose-built course.
Food for kids
At The Gleneagles Hotel, children can eat in style with specially designed menus offering yummy, healthy dishes at Deseo, The Strathearn and from room service.
Our chefs can also supply puréed food for babies or will be happy to cook or heat any baby food or bottles supplied.
Babies
We welcome the tiniest guests and can provide all baby facilities, including:

Babysitting
With advance notice, hotel guests can arrange for childcare support any time of the day or night. Special arrangements can be made for a fully qualified nanny, at an hourly rate.
Meet our ponies!All ages and levels of experience are welcome at The Equestrian School – even little children can learn the foundations of riding on one of our patient Shetland ponies. On some occasions, children can experience cleaning, feeding and riding a pony as if it were your own – hard work, but great fun too! |
How good is your aim?Fun lessons in air rifle target shooting and the traditional sport of archery are available at The Shooting School to children aged 10 years or over, depending on physical ability and parental/instructor’s approval. |
Take a trained gundog for a walk!Learn about different gundog breeds and the tasks they are trained to carry out at The Gundog School. Then it’s your turn to take control of a highly trained Labrador! Learn how to call out basic obedience commands and watch how the dog responds to your instructions! |
Little Miss make-up and nailsGirls and teens dressing up for dinner can have a Touch of Colour makeover at The Salon – perfect for special parties! Nail manicures/pedicures are also available, and nail jewels can be applied to add luxury sparkle to any look! |
