SIR MICHAEL PARKINSON PRESENTS “LET’S TALK JAZZ” AT GLENEAGLES
Three very different and highly acclaimed performers get down to some serious and legendary jazz at The Gleneagles® Hotel this September.
On Saturday 11 September 2010, join world-famous talk-show host and renowned jazz aficionado, Sir Michael Parkinson, with top jazz artists - award-winning guitar virtuoso Martin Taylor, MBE, and Scottish-Canadian vocalist Alison Burns - for a remarkable evening of lively discussion and entertainment accompanied by unbeatable cocktails and the finest cuisine, prepared by the acclaimed chefs at Gleneagles.
This jazz extravaganza begins with a cocktail reception in the grand Glendevon Room, followed by a four-course dinner in The Ballroom featuring impeccable and stylish dishes – every gastronome’s dream. Following a series of contemporary jazz sets, led by the top musicians, Martin will go ‘tete a tete’ with Sir Michael to reveal all behind Parky’s lifelong passion for jazz. Finally, get up close and personal with Sir Michael, Martin and Alison who will be jazzing it up later, as the The Glendevon Room is transformed into a Jazz Bar playing out soulful beats.

Biographies:
o Sir Michael Parkinson - Jazz aficionado, Sir Michael’s award-winning talk show, Parkinson, ran for over 800 shows, during which he interviewed more than 3000 famous people. He was awarded a knighthood for Services to Broadcasting in 2008.
o Martin Taylor, MBE - Award-winning guitarist, Martin Taylor, who received an MBE for Services to Jazz Music in 2002, as established a musical career as an internationally acclaimed solo jazz guitarist.
o Alison Burns - Alison is a Scottish-Canadian singer and has performed in jazz venues around the world, including a number of concerts with Martin Taylor. Alison brings her unique interpretation to traditional jazz standards and classic contemporary songs
