GLENEAGLES WINS RENOWNED AA WINE AWARD
The Strathearn restaurant at The Gleneagles® Hotel in Perthshire achieved nationwide recognition last night when it received the Wine Award, Scotland at the AA Centenary Awards 2008 in London.
The AA Wine Award recognises an outstanding contribution to promoting wine appreciation, with the winner demonstrating a high quality wine list and the ability to inspire customers to make wider and more adventurous choices in selecting wines.
Alan Hill, Director of Food and Beverage at Gleneagles, commented:
“It is a tremendous honour for all of us who work at Gleneagles to receive this accolade from the AA Wine Award panel. This represents recognition by our peers in the industry and also the investment we have made and will continue to make throughout the resort ahead of hosting the Ryder Cup in 2014.”
The Strathearn restaurant enjoys magnificent views across the Gleneagles’ estate where guests can enjoy the very best of Scotland’s larder, accompanied by the finest wine collection. The restaurant also provides access to some of the rarest malt whiskies in Scotland.
Alan Hill added:
“Gleneagles reputation is built on using the finest, freshest produce available in Scotland and from specialist suppliers around the world, and on the skill of our creative kitchen brigade. Our challenge is to develop that reputation with innovative food concepts which will continue to delight our guests.”
