The Golf Academy
The Golf Academy, which opened in 1994, enshrines the philosophy that improving a player's performance improves their enjoyment of the game.

- a video illustrator to provide a CD-Rom of a player's swing sequence;
- a fully equipped golf repair centre, staff will accurately fit lie angle, club length, shaft flex, shaft type, offset and grip size;
- a sales area for golf equipment and accessories, which includes custom fitting centres for Titleist, Taylormade, Callaway and Ping
- reception area equipped with a fully computerised booking system;

- three custom-built greens with variable pin positions and seven bunkers which provide an important focus for developing a player's short game, from pitching and chipping through to putting, in addition to improving play from the tee. The greens are built to US Golf Association standard.
The Academy equips golfers with their own personal training programme, driving towards achievable goals. PGA Professionals will monitor individual performance towards those goals and provide necessary advice and guidance is available for clinics, corporate events and group tuition.
Russell Smith, Gleneagles' Head Golf Professional, says:
"Golfers are increasingly aware of the value of tuition and the Golf Academy at Gleneagles is the centre of excellence for the teaching of golf in Scotland. Our philosophy is that golf should be fun, and whether your aim is to win the Open or just improve your handicap, fun in golf comes from playing better."
