The Gleneagles Strathearn Pipe Band is one of Scotland's principal traditional Highland pipe bands. In recognition of its achievements in winning Scottish, European and World Championships, the Pipe Band has been awarded the accolade of 'Champion of Champions'.

The Pipe Band enters competitions accredited by the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association and fulfils many engagements to entertain appreciative guests in the resort.

The Pipe Band was established in 1967 by the late Pipe Major Archie Osborne and formed its association with The Gleneagles Hotel in 1989, when it adopted the exclusive Black Stewart tartan. It is led by Pipe Major David Hutton who took up his appointment in March 1994, since which time the Pipe Band has welcomed new members and has extended its musical repertoire.

They were presented with the Championship Shield at August 1998's. Braemar Gathering was European Champion in 1988, in which year it also won the prestigious Cowal Championships, Argyll; and Scottish and World Champion in 1989. In August 1998 they become World Champions in marching and discipline.

A Corps of Drums was formed in 1995 under the tutelage of Drumming Instructor John Moneagle. It is affiliated to the Royal British Legion Scotland and is always present at the Service of Remembrance held each year in Auchterarder to commemorate the fallen of two world wars and other conflicts. The Pipe Band also takes part in the annual ceremony of Beating Retreat by the massed pipes and drums of the Royal British Legion Scotland at Edinburgh Castle.

In recognition of its services, the Pipe Band is privileged to wear the Royal British Legion Scotland cap badge and was invited to perform before Her Majesty The Queen and members of the Royal Family at the Braemar Gathering, held near Balmoral Castle on Royal Deeside, in August 1996.

In recognition of its association with the resort, the name Gleneagles is emblazoned on the Bass Drum.
