The Gleneagles Equestrian School makes available one of the world's finest equestrian facilities to guests, members and non-members. The centre provides both pleasure riding and competition training for adults and children at all levels of experience.

The centre, opened in 1988 at a cost of £3 million, covers a 6 hectares (15 acres) site. Facilities include two covered, heated arenas and a fenced, surfaced open exercise and practice arena; arena and gallery seating for 830 spectators; corporate hospitality suite and meeting room; stabling for 43 horses including 20 at livery; shop, changing rooms and showers.

Equestrian activities include pleasure riding and driving; young riders' general riding and specialist programmes; competition training for horses and riders; lectures and demonstrations; registered competitions for all disciplines, including facilities for international shows; livery and schooling; carriage driving; horse trials; intro, pre-novice and novice country courses.

Gleneagles is an accredited British Horse Society training and examination centre to Instructor level of professional qualifications. Diana Zajda, a British Horse Society Instructor, is the centre’s Manager, leading a training team of five full-time coaches and a 30-strong equestrian staff. Four part-time coaches specialise in carriage driving, side saddle and vaulting.

Captain Mark Phillips, the Olympic gold medallist who visits the school regularly, says:

"The Equestrian School, where a total novice can ride for the sheer pleasure of it or a champion sportsperson can practice and improve skills, offers a unique combination of expert staff, location and association with The Gleneagles Hotel, making it unrivalled anywhere".
